About Khai Trí Penguin Academy
This academy is a playful, game-first Vietnamese immersion. Its heart and curriculum are drawn from Khai Tri Academy, a public 501(c)(3) weekend school in Houston staffed entirely by Vietnamese volunteer teachers, officers, and board members.

Mission
Achieve excellence in teaching the Vietnamese language and promoting Vietnamese culture. Students acquire language skills while embracing a bicultural identity — in a fun, innovative room. For penguins, that room happens to be made of ice.
Vision
Preserve Vietnamese language and culture for children and future generations. Give a foundation so they grow into kind, confident, successful members of a community — Houston, the Gulf, or the Southern Ocean.
How we teach
- Reading, writing, speaking, and listening in every session.
- Play-based rooms: music of speech, interactive games, hands-on cards.
- Culture beside vocabulary — Tết, food, family, nón lá — not lists alone.
- Placement by skill, age, and objective, from kindergarten to conversation.
- Parent (or colony) practice at home, because Sunday is only three hours.
Hours & home ice
The Houston school meets Sundays, 9:00 am–12:00 pm, with a 20-minute break, at Houston Community College — West Loop Campus, 5601 West Loop South. This penguin hall is open whenever you open it.
Values
Treat people with respect without regard to race, age, gender, or religion. Uphold the values of a free and democratic society. Philosophy, simply: fun learning.
Together we preserve our heritage, inspire our children, and build a brighter future.
